Painted Wholecloth Quilt

Painting on quilts is the middle ground where quilting and paint collide. I use the word ‘collision’ because the quilt world sometimes doesn't know what to do with the painters of fabric and the fine art world is sometimes confused when needle meets paint!

Simply stated, a painted whole cloth quilt is one piece of fabric that is painted and then quilted. This provides the greatest amount of versatility in creating unique textures and subject matter.
